Madelyn’s backstory
Madelyn. That was her name. And the last word she ever heard before showing up in Elysuim.
Nobody knew her name though when she arrived. She had saved the world, but nobody knew she
had. The heros on the Hill of Legends had scorned her for it. She had tried to nd her mentor and get
his help but they all looked the same, shiny and arrogant. After a while, she couldn't take it. She
couldn't take the scowls, the scoers, and the insults. So she tried to prove her worth against the
best, but, it didn't go well. But this isn't the story of her depressing death, its the before story.
buckle up.
Madelyn was a daughter of Apollo and when her mom dropped her o at the ancient version of
Camp Half-Blood, her dad claimed her. It was a pretty fast claiming which made her adored and
hated. She found two best friends, Saul and Helia. She was really talented and did very well in the
games. She was an expert with a bow and could hit a target hundreds of yards away. But, not many
people noticed her. Mainly because the hero of the century, Bellaphron, was getting all the attention.
Not that she cared a ton, I mean, she was living the good life. She had friends, a crush, and a safe
place to call home. Then, while she was patrolling, her and Saul were ambushed and... she couldn't
save him in time. Her and Helia seperated themselves from the camp for a time and Madelyn was
never the same. The Oracle came by to the camp every 6 months and most times she didn't say
anything. But this time she did, and she gave it to Madelyn. Most thought this was odd and scorned
it. All but Helia and Bellaphorn. Surprisingly Bellaphron didn't. Since Saul was gone and Helia was
her only friend remaining, she really didn't have anyone else to choose. So she chose the only other
one that didn't hate her, Bellaphorn. Their goal, defeat a new evil that had come to the world. Ο
σημαδεμένος, or The Scarred One. They set o and Madelyn started to fall for the dashing hero who
rode his stubborn winged horse. He had even taken her ying on it one night. That was incredible.
Maybe she was falling for the guy, but she really didn't have time to think much about it. Soon they
across their enemy and Madelyn had to do some pretty insane things to make it even POSSIBLE to
have a shot at killing the thing. It was massive and hideous and incredibly strong. Sure both
Bellaphorn and her were the best at camp but even they couldn't do anything. Helia had gotten
severely injuried and she had to stay on the outer edges of the beasts cave. Madelyn had carried her
there herself while Bellaphorn had kept the thing at bay. She had bandaged her up the best she
could but she worried her healing powers weren't enough to save her best friend. Bellaphorn had
yelled for her help and she had to leave her alone. She had charged in and fought bravely against the
monster but it wounded her and Bellaphorn to a point where she could barely stand. But still she
fought on. She would do her friends and dad proud. She, in an epic battle, climbed onto Pegasus
and charged the beast's one weak spot and succeeded. But, at a cost. The monster managed to get
its hooked claws on her and she went ying back. She had watched as the thing died and then
Bellaphorn running up and trying to carry her to safety but it was no use. He had set her up against a
stone wall and tried without success. He called her name over and over but she slowly faded away.
and thats how she got to Elysuim. But your probably wondering, "Why didn't anyone know her
name? Seems like she would've been hailed a hero." Well she wasn't. In fact, Bellaphorn, who
seemed like he cared a lot about her, turned out to be a jerk and he took all the credit since she
couldn't testify.
But your wondering "But wasn't he like this honorable guy from legends?" well he was, but only one
person knows the whole story.
Me.
And telling it would ruin another story so i have to keep my mouth shut.
And Helia? What about her? Well she lived actually. Madelyn did a great job patching her up and she
survived, though the pain and grief of her losing her two friends and almost dying made her silent.
she didn't say another word. not even when she died.
Thats Madelyn's backstory. Kind of sad you know but she was a great person and acheiving Elysuim
isn't an easy thing.
