Honey Cake Recipe
In honor of Rosh Hashana
Jewish New Year please enjoy
this delicious honey cake recipe

I 3 cups strong brewed tea room temperature
I cup vegetable oil
I cop sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract
I l cups honey
3 eggs This recipe yields 2
3 cups flour medium sized loaf
I z tsp baking powder cakes
I z tsp baking soda
I tbs cinnamon
1 Preheat oven to 320 F
2 brew 1 s cups strong dark color tea add ice to cool
3 Beat eggs in large mixing bowl
4 Add vegetable oil sugar brewed tea vanilla extract and
honey Whisk gently until fully combined Use care as
mixture will be very runny
5 In a separate bowl combine flour baking powder
baking soda and cinnamon
6 Gradually sift dry ingredients into wet mixture whisking
by hand to combine as you go
7 Prepare pans to prevent sticking by doing one of the
following
A spraying pans with an even coating of Baker's Joy spray
B lining pans with parchment paper
C greasing pans with vegetable oil then dusting with
flour
8 place cakes in oven to bake for 50 minutes
9 check each cake by inserting and removing toothpick
in center If toothpick comes out clean cake is done
If it does not allow cake to bake for an additional 5
minutes and then check again Repeat until toothpicks
emerge clean
10 Allow cakes to cool completely before enjoying
